TEXAS GARDENING ZONE 8B
What plants would you suggest for my front flowerbeds?

I’m looking for suggestions for my two (now nearly empty) front flowerbeds. I have very little gardening/landscaping experience, so easy plants are best. I live in Texas (Brazos Valley, between Houston & Dallas, zone 8B) and the house faces east. The two flowerbeds are in front of large windows. They get a good amount of sun, but the southern edge of one of the flowerbeds is well-shaded by the front porch and collects some rainwater. I also have a sprinkler system, so can adjust the amount of water the plants get. I prefer red/maroon and white flowers, so I was thinking of Amaryllis, Salvia, Coleus, Sunflowers, and Lilies. I’m not sure how well they will do in this flowerbed or which ones I can plant in Fall verses Spring. Thanks everyone for suggestions!

u could plant tulip bulbs now for a spring display, in spring plant lillies and sunflower seeds, i like gladiolus as they are bulbs like tulips and llilies and are little work and come every year, hope this helps
