CONTAINER GARDENING RASPBERRIES
4 year old pear tree never fruited?

variety is “Pyrus du Comice” in a 18in wide container(in England).has blossomed& ive protected the blossom with fleece when frosty.i have had sucess with Plums & Raspberries in my garden, every year.any advise please

Hello Ann.

I believe that you will need to get a 2nd pear tree to use as a pollinator. The Pyrus du Comice is not self pollinating. Below I list a website where you can get a list of compatible trees. Pick one from groups B or C.

Since you are getting blossoms, it should be safe to assume that the plant is healthy and ready to fruit. It just needs a partner…

I hope this helps,
