Can one use Epsom salt in the garden to repel slugs from brussel sprouts?

Will it hurt the Garden soil?

I wouldn’t use any kind of salt in the garden. If you’re having problems with slugs, try filling a container with beer and putting it in the garden. Slugs love the smell of beer, and will crawl into the shallow container of beer and drown.
