Small Sweet Basil Herb Plant (QUESTION!!!)?

I have always been interested in having a garden of my own. In fact I have already doing my research in ‘Living Raw.’ So, rescently I have just purchesed a 4″ in Organic Sweet Basil plant. It’s cute and small. If I put the small plant in a huge pot (with the added soil to fill it up), will the Herb grow in larger amounts?? I just want more for the buck by giving the small plant more room to grow wild. Is this possible??

Please be aware that if you pot up too much then your plant will concentrate on sending out roots and occupying the available space. The energy will be going into root growth and you’re not likely to see much development in the stems and leaves. Basil is an annual so it’s only going to last for a year or so before it gives you heartache. I only pot up an inch or so at a time to encourage growth both above and below ground level. Pinching it back will encourage growth and give you a non-stop supply of fresh herbs. It makes great pesto.
