OLD GARDENING BOOKS

Old weights and measures, any ideas?
In my old gardening book reference is made to, Pottle, Peck, Bushel, Links, Rod, Rood, Hogshead, Leagues, Poles, and Chains.
The book contains a lot of very useful information and it is about 80 years old.
Wikipedia has a whole section on obsolete units of measure.
I know a
Peck is 8 quarts, dry
4 Pecks to a bushel.
A Rod is 16.5 feet, a Pole is the same
There are 4 Rods to a Chain, and I am guessing a Link is some portion of a Chain
A League is vague, it is around 3 miles or 5km. Supposedly the distance a man or horse can walk in an hour.
These all appear to be old Scottish measurements
I hope that was helpful.
For all of you old enough, In the inside of PeeChee folders you had in school (do not know if they are still around) it had many of these measurments.
