NATIONAL GARDENING CLUB MEMBERS
Do you think I will get a full-ride scholarship at Albion College?

My gradepoint is a 3.899 (with 6 AP Classes), ACT is a 32, I have been a Varsity, All-State athlete for all four years of High School, I am President of Science Club, Editor of the yearbook, Vice President of Key Club, and a member of the National Honor Society and Be The Change. I work part-time and volunteer by maintaining a garden at the local cultural center. I am Caucasian.
Just another little detail… GPA is unweighted.

Probably not, since full-ride scholarships are rare at every school. Albion does award some scholarships that cover 100% of tuition (meaning you would still need to cover room and board and expenses), but it’s a separate competition; they’re not awarded during the admissions process. Here’s the school’s own summary of their scholarship programs:

Albion Scholarships

Albion’s academic scholarships are awarded to students with outstanding academic records or unique skills, talents, or abilities. You will automatically be considered for the following awards when you apply.

All Albion academic scholarships are based solely upon merit, regardless of need. All are renewable each year, subject to satisfactory academic progress. In general, all Albion academic scholarship recipients should strive to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Distinguished Albion Scholars
Amount: A limited number of invitation-only scholarships covering from 75% to 100% of tuition. Renewable.

* Distinguished Albion Scholars are selected from among Trustee Scholarship awardees. Candidates demonstrate outstanding academic achievements, skills, special talents, and abilities – qualities that define a superior Albion first-year student. Additionally, these students will serve as leaders and mentors for others in class, co-curricular activities, and within the greater Albion community.
* While most Distinguished Albion Scholars will reflect the highest academic achievement among all Albion first-year students, in some cases a student’s exceptional contribution outside of standard academic measures may take precedence. Awardees may possess a unique talent, special gift, or skill or have made an exceptional contribution to their community that reflects the overall mission of Albion College.
* Qualified students who apply and are accepted by January 1 will be sent an invitation to the Distinguished Albion Scholars competition, scheduled for February.

Trustee Scholarships
Amount: Up to $16,000. Renewable.

* Available to students demonstrating high academic achievement (high school GPA of at least 3.9 on a 4.0 scale and an ACT score of 29+ or SAT score of 1300+), strong leadership ability, and extracurricular involvement.
* National Merit Scholars who indicate Albion as their first choice on the NMSC application form by April 1 are considered for an additional $2,000 National Merit Award.
* Interview strongly encouraged.

* Interview strongly encouraged.
