Criticism on intro to my literary analysis.?

Martin Gansberg was one of the most talented journalists of The New York Times. “Thirty-eight Who Saw Murder and Didn’t Call the Police” by Gansberg is a hyperbolic, short account of the murder of Catherine Genovese, in which the Newspaper Reporters Association of New York presented him with a plaque for excellence. The opening sentence simply states that Kew Gardens residents watched as a killer stalked and murdered an innocent woman. This statement from the article focused national attention on the callousness of our nation, which, in turn, created the bystander effect.

You should just say his work, instead of repeating the name. An instead of in which, it should be for which. You don’t need to say this staement from the article, just this statement, it is assumed it is from the article. Also it didn’t “create” the bystander effect, i would sya which encouraged the bystander effect. We just did this in ap english.
