HOME GARDENING CALIFORNIA
mimosa plants in Central California?

I have been in Spain for the past summer. Returning home this Friday, after seeing the mimosa plants there I would really like to add some to my garden in the San Joaquin Valley… Does anyone know if these plants will thrive in the area?

Checking with a Garden Center (not discount store) should give you answers. Many species also have other varieties. You will need to find out if anyone sell this plant in California since you have strict regulations on plants being brought into the State. Even plants that are not local can be grown with care and a controlled environment. I grow Plumerias and Citrus in Arkansas (Zone 7b) and neither are native.
