Hi:
I have germinated thousands of herb and vegetables seeds in my greenhouse. I am not sure how big your greenhouse is, but there are a couple of things that are critical for good germination of herbs and vegetables. Water and light of course, and also providing the right soil for their root development.

Purchase a light weight potting soil, with no bark. Add some vermiculite and humus to the soil. A key to good germination is add some hot tap water to the soil mixture. This will help your seeds develop properly. Once they develop into plugs and establish their root systems, you can transplant them into pots or outside.

Germination temperatures for herbs and vegetables do well from 66 to 72 degrees. I will link you to the spices and herb section of my website. There is a page on growing herbs from seeds. This may give you some additional information. I will also link you to the site map, as this page has everything that is on the website. There are many articles, tips and techniques that may help you.

Make sure you know the light requirements of each specimen. Basil likes to germinate in darkness. If you buy good quality seeds, it should tell you on the package. Hope this helps some and good luck to you! Have a great day!
