why do plants get attacked by blight?

Read in gardening book about blight. Had these plants for few years, but the blight problem appeared suddenly altho the others planted together are not affected.

A very hard question since it all depends on the plants. Some plants are blight tolerant and will not get it. Others are not and it has a lot to do with the health of the plant and weather conditions. If scientists could figure it all out crops and ornamentals would do wonderful all the time. But a very good question indeed. All one can do is try to control the blight with fungicides and taking excellent care with food and watering each kind of plant.
