for an assignment i got i have to produce an informative power point presentation for a garden centre employee explaining the following terms ( which i have put above)
thanks in Advance
I feel like I’m doing your homework….
Supplier selection – who does the garden center buy their supplies from. That would be both items for resale and business supplies.
Wholesale price – The price the garden pays for an item that they will resell to the public.
Product specification – I would guess – Tools, Potting supplies, Seeds, Plants, etc.
Electronic Point of Sale – I think the entire cash register/payment set up
Bar coding – Is the series of black lines on almost all products that gets scanned when you check out at almost any store today.
Pre pricing – ?
Lead – I think they are asking about the time it takes for the supplier to ship products to the store for resale.
Payment terms and Exclusives. What are the arrangement for how the garden center pays for the the goods they buy. Typical would be “net 30″, which means they pull in full in 30 days. Some suppliers may offer 2%net 10, meaning you get a 2% discount if you pay in full in 10 days. Exclusives is referring to items the garden center might buy that other stores in the neighborhood can’t get from that supplier.
