GARDENING SHADE PLANTS
shade loving plants??

does anyone know any pretty shade loving plants? as i have a border in the garden that never gets sun, thanks

I have a shade garden out front in which I have both perennials and annuals. My perennials I have are my one hosta which starts popping through come spring and just keeps getting fuller as the summer goes on.

For my spring blooms I have a couple of columbines and some coral bells. We’re into mid June now so those are just about done but blooming next will be the cardinal flowers….which my hummingbirds love… and the hosta.

Also, in May, I then fill in the rest of the garden with annuals to take the color through fall and those would be impatiens, begonias, coleus and whatever else might look interesting.

Also…and we learned this through trial and error. I bring my houseplants out. They thrive out there…and they look nice. From being in the house, they’re used to limited light anyway.

Then before I bring them back in for the winter, I wrap them in plastic with a flea collar thrown in. Let the collar sit in there for a few days and the bugs are gone.
