GARDENING GURUS
Landscaping dilemma!!?

Greetings all, I have inherited a backyard that is pretty good, however it has a retaining wall made from interlocking bevelled blocks (cream in colour). They look great, but they have not been capped. I went to the manufacturer and was informed they no longer make the caps in that style (nor do any of the manufacturers competition). So, if you are a landscape or garden guru, can you offer a solution to covering the top of the retaining wall (it looks shite without a cap!!) Thanks in advance (if you have a link to a picture for your ideas that would be great). Thanks again. Slipper

You could also look into creating your own mold and pouring your own cap yourself. Ask at your local hardware for the latest concrete mixtures out there, many can be made to imitate all types of surfacing (brick, leaves and tracks – saw this at our zoo), etc. They also used creative capping – -like with chipped, thin slices of rock turned sideways, cemented together across the top for a neat rustic-type affect.

Then get creative. And of course light it up for everyone to see (we use solar lighting here – no batteries to mess with, no timers, etc.)

No links with photos, but one with article tips / help:

And if you can surf the zoo site, they may have pics:

(they’ve been working at construction there for a couple years now – -beautiful place with Jack Hanna’s awesome leadership.!)
