Shed Plans Free – What You Need To Know About Shed Plans For Free
Imagine having a good plan that would enable you to build a shed with confidence knowing that you have all the correct information at your fingertips. That one little piece of paper can make all the difference when it comes to building your own shed. It can transform a time wasting laborious task into an enjoyable D.I.Y. project. But plans can be expensive and you may never use them again. You’re smart enough to know that there’s lots of free stuff available on the internet, even shed plans. Free shed plans need to provide the right information though to be of any value.
Let’s look at what you need from a free shed plan.
Materials List
You need a detailed materials list. Not only will this save you a lot of time working out what amounts you need but also what size timbers you need for a strong and secure building.
Illustrations.
As the saying goes ‘a picture says a thousand words’. Clear illustrations make it so much easier to get your head around construction details like rafter templates, window and door jams, flashing and eave details.
Foundation Plan
Without secure foundations your hard work could collapse in the next wild storm. It’s important to get the footings and drainage right.
Floor and Wall Framing
Schematic drawings of wall and floor framing showing side, rear and front elevations, and stud spacing. Also cladding details.
Roof Plan and Rafter Details
A blueprint of roof construction, insulation and cladding along with rafter templates.
Hardware
A detailed list of what type and size of fasteners for each part of the construction.
Step By Step Instructions.
Unless you’re an experienced builder you need easy to follow instructions that will take you by the hand and lead you through a systematic plan of action.
Keep in mind that any free plan is probably going to be a basic and simple design so if you are looking for something a bit more creative you may struggle to find it. The more complex the design, the more detailed the plans and instructions need to be.
Many free plans won’t provide all of the above so check them carefully before you take action to avoid making any mistakes.
After all you want to be able to show off your new shed with pride and a sense of accomplishment and enjoy the envy of your friends.
I have some great news for you though. I’ve found a great source of detailed shed plans for free with easy step by step instructions and an attractive design. The plan meets all of the necessary requirements we’ve been discussing in this article. Have a look at it now at www.builditplans.info
