Is human urine OK for the soil in garden vegetable beds?
I am trying to enrich the soil in my garden. I use mulch and compost, as well as horse manure. I am wondering about the use of urine.
urine is very helpful to the growth of plants. if you want to use urine as a plant fertilizer.,it is important to put it on the ground and cover it with earth or dilute it and water it down.
URINE-Whether from man or animals it is an extremely valuable manure as it contains a higher proportion of nitrogen than Cow, Horse, Sheep or Elephant Manure. As the valuable chemical substances are already in solution they are immediately available for plant use. Urine should not be used fresh but kept for a few days then diluted at a ratio of 1 to 4 with water. It may then be applied directly to the ground around plants. Urine is also useful as a source of added nitrogen to compost. Be aware that urine should be kept in a closed container out of the house prior to use as it will definitely become stinky.
