Well im doing up my garden and im wondering what flowers do you recommend that are nice? Also what vegetables/fruits are easy to grow? And we are having grey patio and path, so what would you put as decorations? Also what borders should i use to seperate the flowers from grass, thank you :D
Any tips and suggestions you got please tell me them !!
Also any other gardening tips would be helpful :D

Consider the soil and aspect of you garden. Is your garden south facing for example and are there any heavy shaded areas? Is your soil sandy or heavy clay for instance? This will help you choose the best plants.

Once you know these details you can figure out how much work you want to put in maintaining the garden. A herbaceous border requires a lot of work, whereas many shrubs need only yearly pruning and some less that that.

Generally speaking a few well chosen shrubs can form the backbone of your borders and then can be under planted with bulbs and seasonal plants.

An area for vegetables and/or fruit is best segregated from the rest of your garden and depending on size can be a lot of work. You can quite easily grow strawberries in pots though. Lawns can be either edged with an iron and edging shears or bordered by stone or brick.

If your garden is short it is best to curve your lawn as this gives the impression your garden is longer. Plant blue and purple flowering plants to the rear of the garden as these colours are associated with distance and increase the effect.

Conversely if you garden is long and narrow you can reduce the effect by planting brighter coloured flowers at the far end. Try to include a focal point and consider a small water feature if no small children can access your garden.

All in all it really depends on how much work you’re willing to do in the future. Making a nice garden is very satisfying, but maintaining it can be time consuming.
