CONTAINER VEGETABLE GARDENING SEEDS
When should I plant vegys?

When should I plant my vegetable garden in zone 9, Mid-California, San Jose-Monterey. All my seed packages say after threat of frost or when last frost has passed. I am starting my seeds inside does that make a difference?
I am planting, corn, squash, brussle sprouts, beans, watermelon, cantaloupe the basics. Some are going into containers does that make difference?

Looks like the date of the last likely frost in your area in mid February. So the plants could go out pretty soon now.

Don’t start the corn indoors. It does not transplant well. Corn should be planted directly in garden soil. You need to plant several rows for good pollination. You wouldn’t need to start beans indoors either as they sprout easily and grow quickly outdoors.
