CHILDREN GARDENING BOOKS
Looking for a children’s book where tiny books are found in a quilt.?

I was read this book in grade 3. The book is possibly set in Canada – I vaugley remember the Okanagan valley. Two children are sent to stay with (possibly) a relative. There’s some old family mystery they solve by finding rock letters hidden in the flower gardens, and this leads to finding small books that had been sewn into a quilt.

I love that book!

It’s called “Mystery at Cranberry Farm” by Lynn Manuel.

Unfortunately, it’s out of print. However, some libraries still carry it. I know it’s at the Fraser Valley Regional Library in British Columbia. It also shows up occasionally at used book stores.

Your memory is very good, all the details you list are accurate except that there are three kids (Trish, Teddy, and Tory), not two. It is set in the Okanagan Valley and they are staying with a Great Aunt for the summer.
