BUTTERFLY GARDENING TEXAS
I need suggestions for a early summer garden that’s fairly low-maintence?

I don’t have a whole lot of time to invest in a garden, perhaps an hour per day during the work week, and weekends I’m off so I could devote alot more time. However, I would consider myself a beginner gardener. I would like a garden that attracts butterflies and birds (if possible) that would do well right now in the South Texas area (Victoria).

A lot of herbs don’t need much attention- and in fact, prefer to be neglected just a little. Take a look at those.

Butterflies love dill for laying their eggs, and brightly colored flowers such as bee balm for their nectar.

Also, talk with your local nursery and extension agency about what will grow well where you live.

Good luck!
