AIR TABLE GARDENING

My tortoises can jump ?
i put my male tortoise on the table and he just happily walked off to the edge and jumped !
while he was in the air he stuck himself in his shell , and when he “landed” he was perfectly fine .
another was i was at the garden their were like 3 stairs , i put my female tortoise on the top stair and i left , when i came back ( 15 mins later ) i just found her on the ground , with no signs of injury .
Is this normal ?

Is your tortoise is still young??? It is a part of it’s natural life… It will jump to avoid obstacles that is in front of it!!!
