INDOOR GARDENING ACCESSORIES
Male quail loosing feathers….help?

My partner and i have recently brought two chinese quails as pets. we brought a female quail from a garden centre alongside an indoor cage and accessories. A few days later i brought a male quail from a cornish aviaries selling all breeds of birds. These quails are babies.
When i got him home i noticed a few of his feathers on his back were missing. We put this down to stress and the fact that he was kept in a cage full of males. He seems happy enough but it has been a month and they haven’t grown back, and the both get along fine.
Today we brought 2 more females of same breed, as the was ’suppose’ to make him less stressed. Now the new one is fighting with him pulling out more feathers and pecking him on the head. Im worried about this as he is not fighting back and seems to be left in the corner. The cage is a large cage and they get the recommended food. Any ideas? im really worried!

What you have done is created a problem of your own doing!!
Chinese Painted Quail, should only be kept in small groups of no more than three hens to 1 C*ck ,or a trio,(I have bred hundreds for Pets and Trade)
They can be very aggressive to newcomers and unfortunately your new addition has become victim to the dominance of the others.
Remove your bird immediately or the others will “KILL” It.
Pick two of the hens that are New to your Flock and place them with him in a separate area away from competition,
If you want to have success in breeding and harmony with your birds then all groups must be separated,Never have more than one C*ck,in a group.
The C*ck birds can be distinguished by their black necklace or throat patch hens do not have this
Like I say I have the experience over many years in breeding C.P.Q.s and other species.
